11pets comparison and switching questionsDogCat vs 11pets
How is DogCat different from 11pets?
Both apps bring pet reminders, health records and shared care together. DogCat offers free everyday care for unlimited pets and unlimited people sharing their care, with optional Plus extras. Extensive customization lets you tailor it to your pets’ needs, with a focus on stability and reliability. It is independently built, with personal support directly from the founder.
Do I need a subscription for multiple pets?
In DogCat, no. You can manage everyday care for unlimited pets for free. The free plan includes a few ads, and Plus offers optional extras. 11pets publishes Free and Premium plans and lists unlimited pets among its paid features.
Can I customize DogCat for my pet’s needs?
Yes. Create custom pet types, breeds, log types and custom fields for extra details in your pet’s records, alongside medication, custom vaccinations, weight and vet notes.
Can my family or pet sitter share care for free?
Yes. DogCat lets you share pet care with unlimited users for free. Choose whether each person can edit records or only view them.
How do I keep a copy of my 11pets records before switching?
You can export your pet data from 11pets. If you’d like help importing it into DogCat, email me at renato@dogcat.app.
What should I bring across to DogCat first?
Start with each pet’s profile, current medication, upcoming vaccination dates, recent weight records and important vet documents. Add the details to DogCat and check your next reminders. Keep the original export as a separate copy, and contact us if you need help getting started.
Can I use DogCat on iPhone and Android?
Yes. DogCat is available on the App Store and Google Play. Sign in with the same DogCat account to access your pets across devices, or invite family members through their own accounts.
What if a reminder does not arrive?
DogCat supports medication, vaccination and appointment reminders. Check the scheduled time and notification permissions in your phone’s settings. Focus modes and battery-saving settings can affect notifications. If you still have trouble, contact us through in-app live chat.
Does DogCat work offline?
DogCat requires an internet connection to access and synchronize your pets’ records and shared care. 11pets also describes its current app as using cloud data while online.
Can I talk to the person who builds DogCat?
Yes. DogCat is independently developed by Renato, and in-app live chat connects you directly with the founder. Open Settings to start a chat, or email renato@dogcat.app. You can ask for help or suggest improvements.
How does DogCat keep my pet’s records safe?
DogCat was built with reliability in mind. Your pet’s records are securely stored and backed up in the cloud, helping protect them from loss when you update the app or change devices.
What happens if I cancel DogCat Plus?
Plus access continues until the end of the paid period, then your account returns to the free plan and Plus extras are no longer available. Manage cancellation through the App Store or Google Play account used for the purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Our story
Built by an engineer. For pets, not investors.
I'm Renato, a Portuguese software engineer. I've spent years building technology at leading companies, but DogCat started with something more personal: my two cats, Chilli and Panda.
DogCat is independently built, with no outside investment. This allows me to focus on what really matters: building a useful product, listening to pet owners, and making it easy to keep your pet’s health and care organized.
